What a great collaboration!
I met with a first-grade classroom and their teacher at Friends School in Boulder, Colorado. They wanted a map of their playground that they could hand out to prospective families. This first grade classroom mapped out their own playground, drawing all the pieces and creating a matching key.
I scanned and edited their drawings and created a map base. Photos of the children brought this map to life! Throughout this process, I would send the map iteration to the class, they would review and let me know what changes should be made, and the design would continue updating from there!
I also created a video for the first graders, which explained and showed the process from start to finish.
This project was SO fun. I love working with youth-centered organizations.
